Rollohi world principles

This is partly what I rolled up using a d6 oracle to begin with, and partly emergent from things that come up during play. 

Known without rolling

  • It's a bit like medieval Europe
  • There are fantasy races
  • Magic is wielded
  • Peril awaits those that adventure
  • OSE is the foundation but other OSR resources can be used without fear

Rolled

  1. The world is deeply ancient but not many people know that
  2. It is not richly magical: magic secrets need to be won at a price
  3. The ancients used things that are now regarded as magical: the principles are different
  4. Modern cities are not built on the ruins of the old, since ancient ruins are not even recognized
  5. Guilds are all-encompassing, and include adventuring
  6. Duties are not evenly distributed between sexes but are positive on the whole
  7. Demihumans are rare, and live apart
  8. Adventurers do not settle the frontier as lords; they retire to market towns
  9. Market towns which enable trade between human and demihuman have special status
  10. Female:female couples are a thing
  11. STIs are a thing and common in sleazy joints
  12. Elves are "character blanks" set forth into the world by real elves
