Rollohi world principles

This is partly what I rolled up using a d6 oracle to begin with, and partly emergent from things that come up during play.  Known without rolling It's a bit like medieval Europe There are fantasy races Magic is wielded Peril awaits those that adventure OSE is the foundation but other OSR resources can be used without fear Rolled The world is deeply ancient but not many people know that It is not richly magical: magic secrets need to be won at a price The ancients used things that are now regarded as magical: the principles are different Modern cities are not built on the ruins of the old, since ancient ruins are not even recognized Guilds are all-encompassing, and include adventuring Duties are not evenly distributed between sexes but are positive on the whole Demihumans are rare, and live apart Adventurers do not settle the frontier as lords; they retire to market towns Market towns which enable trade between human and demihuman have special status Female:female couples are a thin...

Rollohi-ep03 Last time in Rollohi, the eight-strong party dealt with a lowball offer from the young merchant Ajiwe, ending up accepting it. Ajiwe is bound east for a destination he relies on landmarks to find. Luckily for him, despite terrible weather, he does find two landmarks in succession. Disaster in the form of a deadfall takes the life of Afanwe, Ajiwe's muleteer. Miraculously no-one else dies. In the aftermath as they load the corpse onto a mule, the halflings and Kylie the elf notice that the tree's roots were part cut through. Ambush Wilderness watch 3   Weather: the sky now clears more than it has in the last few days. It is noticeably cooler. Moon, visible now through gaps in the canopy, is two days from full.   Do they get lost (2 in 6 thanks to the above) no.    Encounter check (3 in 6) Yes, and... (is it the false knight?) Yes and... he has set an ambush.   Was he responsible for the tree fall? Yes but... he really wanted to jump the party when it...

4.1 Monsterbaiting Weather no change, or even finer. Moon near full. The grim task of chumming the forest for monsters is under way. Eryn has recovered both hp she was down, and of course, all others have recovered from fatigue.   Watch 1, does the task finish no and... a patrol of hobgoblins finds them Is it a full patrol no and... just using the Basic edition numbers 1 appears Neither side is surprised. The hobgblin will attempt to disengage ad flee but not leave a trail. But its mv of 90 is 30 slower than any of the light foot so called. Will Kylie go alone no but she will move at her own speed Original range 80. Kylie immediaty gets to decent longbow aim and hunts the weaving hobgoblin using 5 arrows. Distance traveled 530 feet. Evasion: Kylie manages to lose sight at one point but picks it up next round. Is it still forest yes but with small meadows Are there signs of other hobgoblins no but it is patrolled sometimes Loot: 22 copper 52 silver ...

2.1 Lowball Ingle part-confirms his first impressions with an 09 on WIS and Umbert part-confirms his with a 12 on INT. The staff or hoteliers seem to be a female couple, then there are three sturdy outside workers, and guests. [erda - the masculine; oshii - the feminine (agatha christie type couple)] Quite a number of men drifting about in the background, watching the party arrive, loitering about generally. One man dressed as a trader with a minimum amount of merchant guild color looks pleased to see newcomers.   Inside the rock-cut parts of the fortalice, there's one big feasting hall that has been upgraded to serve guests, and small side-chambers that are for hire as guestrooms.  Although they can't see this, it's fairly evident that there must be a good-size storeroom and perhaps an ice-room, to keep spoilable goods fresh. It looks as though basic supplies are to be had here for purchase. If gear or transport need fixing, repairs can also be negotiated. The party ca...
